We’ll start taking Thanksgiving orders on Monday, October 22nd!
As heatwave after heatwave tries to kick our butts, we are pushing on through and baking away here. We’ve rolled out our summer seasonal pies as well as a few new items we’d love for you to try. Our peach pie is loaded with velvety, juicy peaches and topped with a pastry crust. Or try a version speckled with giant blackberries and covered in a sweet chewy walnut crumble. Looking for your peach fix elsewhere? Try a warm cup of peach bread pudding or a peach blueberry pop tart. Strawberry rhubarb will be holding its ground on our menu for a few more weeks, so snatch one up before they’re gone til next spring. Or try our lemon rhubarb pound cake, covered in a puckerworthy lemon glaze, my new favorite.
In the savory department, we’ve wished our asparagus pie farewell and welcomed the tomato provencal pie. Thick slices of juicy heirloom tomatoes, gruyere cheese, dijon and a dusting of provencal herbs packed into a buttery crust will be calling you to the table for a lazy summer day’s lunch.

Petsi Pies will be celebrating the most exciting two minutes in sports this weekend. We’ll be baking up Kentucky Run For the Roses Pie, the traditional chocolate walnut bourbon dessert on Friday and Saturday. Come in to the Beacon St. bakery on Saturday May 5th donning your finest derby hat (and check out ours!!) to receive a free cutie pie! Here are some ideas to get you inspired!
We have welcomed strawberry rhubarb pie onto our menu, spring is officially here at last! Stop in for a tall cuppa cold brew iced coffee and check out our new treats. In addition to our strawberry rhubarb pie (available in all sizes, including cutie pies!) we are introducing our blueberry lemon cornmeal loaf and will continue serving our roasted asparagus, cherry tomato and smoked mozzarella tart. Now we will just be patiently waiting for peaches until we can really spoil you all.
We are also excited to announce we have extended our Sunday hours at the Somerville bakery to 4PM. Stop in at your leisure to check out what we’re baking up!

Fat Tuesday is February 21st and we’ll be baking King Cakes made with our delicious brioche dough! Pick one up at the bakery or head over to Tupelo Restaurant and enjoy one after your gumbo!
Things have finally slowed down a bit after our mad holiday rush and we are using our time to brainstorm some new creations for 2012. We are definitely enjoying taste testing our new recipes and we’d love for you to come by and let us know what you think too. If you’re part of the lunch crowd, or just craving something cheesy, look for more savory options at our Beacon Street location. We are now offering our bacon cheddar scallion biscuits daily, as well as introducing a new savory twice-baked brioche with cranberry mustard and pimiento cheese. Also look for individual portions of mac n cheese pie with bacon sage crumble and tiny freshly baked chicken pot pies, just a little something to get you through the winter (if it ever comes). In other news, Super Bowl Sunday AKA JUNK FOOD DAY is coming up! Of course we’ll have something to contribute to your table — we’re thinking frito pie and 7-layer pie, and yes, there will be mallomars involved. Come see us this weekend!

Be aware that we WILL be offering our savory pies and cupcakes, cookies & bars in addition to this limited menu. First off, a great big THANKS to all who came and supported us in our Thanksgiving frenzy here at the bakery. We loved seeing you all and, even more, getting to be part of your holiday dessert table…And breakfast table too we hope–I don’t know about you but I definitely enjoyed a nice fat slice of cherry pie on Friday morning.
Another thanks goes out to all the Petsi-Piers who worked their butts off all week long, congratulations on making a 12 hour work day feel like an easy day. All the fun starts after the 14th hour anyway.. You were all so very awesome and made the week simply breeze on by so much that I’m already looking forward to next year?
Looking forward, the next set of holidays is quickly approaching. We are currently dreaming up a delicious winter menu. Thinking about plum gingerbread and blackberry & blood orange galette. mmm. Find the menu here soon!
